Space Qualification

Space Qualification & Mission-Critical RF Engineering

Space qualification begins at the design stage—starting with material selection and extending through testing, documentation, and delivery. At TRM, our space-qualified RF solutions are engineered to meet the specific environmental conditions, mission profiles, and reliability requirements of each program.

We apply a mission-critical mindset to every phase of development, continuously advancing our capabilities in materials engineering, design validation, and qualification testing to support space and high-reliability applications.

Materials Selection & Outgassing Compliance

TRM selects materials that meet NASA outgassing requirements, including ≤1.0% Total Mass Loss (TML) and ≤0.1% Collected Volatile Condensable Materials (CVCM). Because epoxy cure cycles directly impact outgassing performance, we use NASA-approved cure profiles to ensure compliance and long-term reliability in space environments.

In addition to electrical performance, coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) is a critical factor in material selection. Our engineers evaluate the full thermal, mechanical, and electrical environment to ensure structural integrity and performance across extreme conditions.

Customized Screening & Design Assurance

Every product is qualified to the mission—not a generic standard. TRM customizes screening levels to match your exact environmental and operational requirements, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation without unnecessary cost or schedule impact.

Multipaction analysis is performed early in the design cycle to identify and eliminate potential failure mechanisms before hardware is built.

Documentation, Traceability & Quality Control

We maintain full documentation traceability through Process Identification Documentation (PID) to verify that all customer specifications are addressed, validated, and recorded.

Component assemblies undergo multiple levels of inspection and verification throughout manufacturing to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
